Practice, precision, and preparation, three things these young ladies need as they prepare to dance in next month's Miss America pageant parade in Atlantic City.
"We've been practicing over the past few weeks. All of our steps with the music and just getting ready practicing hard," says owner and director of Dance Magic studios Dawn Baldwin.
Stepping up to the challenge, Dawn Baldwin's dancers welcomed the opportunity to perform in front of hundreds of thousands with open arms.
"I think it'll be a great opportunity for all of us to meet new friends and just be able to perform," says Dancer Julia Terry.
"I thought it was cool that little Hammonton got to go in this huge Miss America parade," says another dancer Amanda Christon.
"We're very excited to be participating along with many many other people, performers, singers, dancers, all kind of things like that," says Baldwin.
From as young as 10, to as old as 18, these girls are preparing for the show of their young lives. Baldwin jumped at the opportunity to sign them up when she heard officials were looking for dance acts.
"I immediately contacted the Miss America organization, and asked them if there is going to be a parade, how we can participate, and what it would take to be a part of this big event," says Baldwin.
And these girls certainly have what it takes. Like 11 year old Julia Terry who has been dancing since she was 3 years old.
"I just love to dance and anytime I have an opportunity to do it, I'll definitely take it," says Terry.
Or 16 year old Amanda Christon who has been dancing for about 13 years.
"I think its awesome, especially since it just came back. Its like a big big thing this year," she says.
"Its going to be a bigger and better parade and I think people are really excited for it to be back to the boardwalk and back to the home of Miss America," says Baldwin.
