The attendant of the ride at Gillian's Wonderland Pier where a four year old girl was injured Sunday night has been fired.
The state Department of Community Affairs investigates any amusement park incident and says that the foot injury the girl received at the speedway ride was caused by operator error.
The Ocean City amusement park told the state that the employee was fired.
It is unclear whether the girl got off of the speedway ride before it started or entered the platform after the ride began.
The state inspected the ride Monday and found no mechanical problems.
The ride has been reopened.
The girl was taken to the hospital to be treated for an ankle injury.
