The family of a 16-year-old homicide victim says they are re-living her death 16 years later, after learning that the man who was once convicted of her murder is once again making headlines. They say they knew it was only a matter of time before he hurt someone else's daughter.

"I cried because I knew this would happen. He would hurt someone else. I knew it." Everyday for 16 years Kathryn Mason has thought about the woman that her daughter would be today, if she had made it past the age of 16.

Now she is being forced to re-live the day she will never forget. "It's just sad that they let him out to hurt somebody else. That was my fear all along that he would do that."

Peter Henriques, now 33 was found guilty for the murder of Nielsa Mason when they were both 16 years old.

Now he is behind bars once again. According to police, on August 13th, Henriques made sexual contact with a 14 year old.

"I'm just sorry for the other child, i'm sorry for the other little girl whoever she may be," said Nielsa's Grandmother, Ilene Mason.

Henriques walked away a free man after serving 14 years for Nielsa's murder. The murder conviction was overturned and he was found guilty of the lesser crime of aggravated manslaughter during a retrial.

Nielsa's father, Daniel Mason, says the court failed his family. "It makes me think of my daughter, and how the court system favored him over her. She was no longer there for her voice."

Nielsa's body was found inside of the boys locker room at Cumberland Regional High School. The two were classmates.

"He did do it, and this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt he is a bad person, and he hurts people," said Kathryn. "He hurt another young girl."

We attempted to speak with Henriques' family about the new charges, but no one was home. Nielsa's family says Henriques should have never been allowed back on the streets. But say they have some form of justice knowing that the 14 year old girl was not injured, and that Henriques is once again in the hands of police.

"It makes me feel good to know she is ok because Nielsa Mason is not ok. She is gone. My baby is gone."

Henriques is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $50,000 bail. He is charged with criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child.
