EGG HARBOR TWP. -

With September right around the corner, many parents are trying not to break the bank when it comes to back to school shopping. In fact, there are ways to avoid the stress that often comes when buying the supplies needed to kick off the school year.

"Back to school shopping is stressful,” laments Janine Teles, a mother of four.

"Book bag, supplies, uniform, its really hard," explains a Pleasantville mom.

But, before parents begin to panic they should study up on what items to reuse or renew.

"They can use back pack from year to year," advises the owner of 4 M Fashions, Hanaa Atallan.

And be sure to break out the hand-me-downs as Teles urges parents to, "get the most out of your money, get the most of those outfits."

There is also a plan for parents with kids who wear uniforms at Pleasantville or Atlantic City schools: 4 M Fashion offers two uniforms for less than $10 when shoppers bring a voucher.

"The school gives them a voucher and we accept it and offer two uniforms. We collect money from the school," explains Atallan.

“If you’re not working and the way the economy is going right now, it's really hard to keep up with everything,” says one parent.

And, the cost efficient alternatives don't' end there…

Parents looking to avoid breaking the bank for back to school shopping should look for stores with lay away options like the one at Four M fashion, allowing you to buy everything you need and pay in different stages.

Atallan breaks down how this payment process alleviates financial pressure experienced by parents.

"So if you have the money you stop by little by little until you finish paying the whole entire thing. They can come every week, two weeks, we always work with them, I don't rush them at all," says the store owner.

Atallan adds that customers, "can come in and through due payment it will be less stressful in the end."

Evidently, a stress free strategy as the start of the school year nears.
