The Hamilton Twp. police responded to the Cologne Garden Apartment Complex in Mays Landing Saturday for a possible child abduction.
Upon arrival, police were told that Shakira Lovelace, age 37, of Mays Landing was having an unsupervised court ordered visitation with her 2-month-old baby.
Police say Lovelace left with her child and did not return at the specified court ordered time. Police checked the area and were unable to immediately locate Lovelace and her child.
The Child Abduction Response Team was notified and with the assistance of the Hamilton Twp. Police Department, Atlantic County Prosecutors Office and the New Jersey State Police, Lovelace and her child were found by the Rensler, NY Police Department at a Train Station in Albany, NY.
The child was unharmed and Lovelace is being charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Interference with Custody.
