The Coast Guard Cape May assists two jet skiers through waist-deep mud in an Avalon earlier Sunday near 7th street.

Once authoritiesarrived on scene, petty officer 3rd class Chris Conway, a Coast Guard rescueswimmer, was lowered from a helicopter to assist the jet skiers who ranaground.

Conway escortedthe two men to an Avalon fire department boat, carrying one of the men throughwaist deep mud for a quarter of a mile.

TheAvalon fire department boat then brought the men to the Avalon Yacht Club.
