Fire officials say a woman was lucky to escape a fire Thursday afternoon in North Wildwood.
The fire broke out in a one story home near the corner of fifth and New Jersey avenues around 12:15 p.m. One woman was inside but managed to escape without injury.
The fire quickly grew to two alarms and dark smoke was seen from miles away. The fire was put under control in about 20 minutes, but not before causing severe damage to the home, and slight damage to some neighboring properties.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
