As anticipation builds for the return of the Miss America Pageant, some local businesses are concerned that participating in the parade could be costly.
Back in 2004, the coast to enter a float was $200. The price tag now for businesses to build their own float is $2,000. Also, to finance your float with the help of professional designers, the final result could lead to rates as high as $8,00. Meanwhile, it's not just the cost that's creating concern as the parade also clashes with YomKippurr, a Jewish high holiday which includes fasting and prayer. The Miss America Organization says this conflict is due to limited television dates given by ABC.
