Happy Thursday South Jersey!
Yesterday, as planned, marked the first heat wave of official summer.
We shouldn't be as hot today but the humidity will still be there. We are looking to flirt with the 90 degree temperature mark on the mainland, it is possible, but I think we will be sitting in the upper 80's for a daytime high. Temperatures at the shore should be in the low 80's. More of a chance to see a late afternoon / early evening thunderstorm when we see a trough approaching early into the night.
An area of low pressure will move eastward today and into central Pennsylvania later today and into tonight. Overnight, that system will strengthen and move into the northeast by Friday. The low pressure system brings along a slow moving cold front that will likely stall over the east coast bringing the chance of showers into the weekend and early next week. The high pressure system will try to build back next week which will move the cold front westward or diminish it by the end of next week.
Have a great day South Jersey!
