A book launched Wednesday chronicles the lives of the founders of the historic town of Smithville.
Author Judy Courter wrote the book titled "Fred and Ethel Noyes of Smithville New Jersey: The Artist and Entrepreneur," after being inspired by a picture of Ethel Noyes while at the Fred and Ethel Tavern over 15 years ago. She says the book, which was released last month, is meant to bring light to the story behind the town, and the establishments there.
"To appreciate all these, and how a little farm girl from Oceanville New Jersey and her husband, an artist, could make these things happen here" said Courter when asked about the message behind the book.
This is the first book Courter has written. The launch party was held at the Smithville Inn.
