Skytypers prepare for Wednesday's Atlantic City Air Show

Posted: Updated:

Atlantic City is getting ready for this year's Atlantic City Air Show and the excitement is growing.

The Geico Skytypers were running some flights today in their World War II era planes in preparation for Wednesday's big show.

Pilots say these Navy planes were flown for training back in World War II.

This is a great opportunity to show people the aircraft that the greatest generation trained in and kind of give them a sense of the challenges they faced getting ready for the second World War.

The planes dive to just a couple hundred feet above the beaches as part of their performance.

They get the name "skytypers" because as they fly in formation they can type out messages in smoke seen in the sky.
