Mary Pat Christie hammers final board into Seaside Heights boardwalk

It was a symbolicmilestone to mark the first day of summer at the Jersey Shore.

New Jersey's First Lady, Mary Pat Christie, hammered the final board into place on the Seaside Heights boardwalk that was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.

The initialproject cost $3.6 million to replace the boards while railings, lighting andramps cost extra.

Christie thankedthe workers for getting the job done.

Theevent sponsor, Coca-Cola, gave Christie a $500,000 check for her Hurricane SandyNew Jersey Relief Fund.
