Four arrested in A.C. strong armed robbery

On Monday, June 17, 2013 at 1:55 am Atlantic City Police responded to North Carolina and Pacific Avenues in reference to a strong arm robbery on two male victims where a high valued gold chain with a gold cross was taken.

Four suspect males exited out of a tan Chevrolet Impala, physically assaulted the two victims by choking them unconscious then stole the items before fleeing eastbound on Pacific Avenue on foot. Officer James Eckert located the victims, giving out pertinent information regarding the suspects’ physical and clothing descriptions to responding officers. Officers Michael Oldroyd, Victor Tweedle, Patrick Finegan, and K9 Officer Sterling Wheaten searched the area for the suspects while K9 Officer Marinela Pali conducted surveillance on the suspects’ vehicle Impala which was still on scene.

Within minutes Officer Pali observed the four suspects running back to the vehicle, they all entered it and fled in the vehicle toward Atlantic Avenue at a high rate of speed. K9 Officer M. Pali was able to conduct a motor vehicle stop on the suspects’ car at Kentucky and Atlantic Avenues. The occupants of the vehicle matched the physical and clothing descriptions that the victims previously stated. The victims also arrived on scene to the motor vehicle stop and positively identified the four suspects. The suspects were placed in custody. The gold chain and cross was located and returned back to the victims. This case was turned over to Detective J. Braasch for further investigation.

Mikal Harper Age: 20 Address: 400 block Thomas Drive, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ

All males were charged with Robbery and Conspiracy with bail set at $100,000.00. Remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, Mays Landing, NJ
