After round one of the Shoprite LPGA Classic Friday, four of the golfers took on a unique challenge in Atlantic City Friday night.
It's the Red Bull Boardwalk Skills Challenge, and extremely strong winds didn't make things easier for the ladies, as they aimed at targets on the beach from a tee box placed 87 feet above sea level on Revel's outdoor Skygarden.
NBC 40's Pete Thompson was the emcee for the event. After an intense morning of tournament golf at Seaview, the Red Bull Skills Challenge is a way to let some of the best female golfers in the world put their skills to the test and also give them a once in a lifetime opportunity.
"Brooke and I played together today a we were sitting at lunch and I said, 'ok I got to go practice, I'm going to figure out how I'm going to win this thing tonight," said Kathleen Ekey, who won the tournament.
Lexi Thompson, Brooke Pancake and Natalie Gulbis also participated in the challenge. The targets ranged from 75 to 150 yards away.
