A.C. stabbing victim seeks help in nearby casino

ATLANTIC CITY -

Police in Atlantic City are still investigating an early morning stabbing on the boardwalk over the weekend.

Officers responded to the area of Chelsea Avenue and the boardwalk just before 4:00 a.m. Sunday, but did not find a victim on the scene.

Authorities say about 20 minutes later, a man walked into the Tropicana Casino and told security officers he had been stabbed in the stomach.

He was taken to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

The victim was with two other people at the time of the stabbing, who described the suspect as a dark-skinned black man, standing about 5'9" and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

The investigation is ongoing.
