ACUA collects bikes for underprivileged

EGG HARBOR TWP. -- Rainy weather didn't stop the Atlantic County Utilities Authority from helping the underprivileged Saturday.

Representatives from the ACUA were at the Environmental Park on Delilah Road to collect used bicycles, and they say that rain or shine, bike recycling keeps the items out of landfills and also helps the community.
"We want to give back something to the community. We never had new bikes when we were kids so when we started out we started out with used bikes so this is how we give back to the community," said Andrew Smith of Two-Wheelers for Tots.

Once the bikes are refurbished, they'll be given to children in Atlantic City.
