The Atlantic City Police Department will be testing its new gun shot detection technology in the city Friday night. Police say there will be a live fire calibration test for the new ShotSpotter system in certain areas of the city.
Residents will hear controlled gun shots that do not pose any harm to the community.
Exact locations will not be disclosed due to security concerns.
The testing is considered the final step before shot spotter can go live.
The testing is expected to wrap up by 11p.m.
