Firefighters respond to fire at row home Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY -

Fire ripped through a row home Wednesday evening, threatening neighboring units.

The fire started in the front bedroom of the center unit around 6:30 Wednesday night.  Firefighters reported seeing heavy flames when they first arrived on the scene on the 1200 block of Mediterranean Avenue.  Fire Chief Dennis Brooks says two adults three children and a dog were able to escape the home and avoid injury.

Firemen worked quickly to minimize damage to the units connected to the row home.  Those families are able to remain in their homes tonight.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
