A tower that has been a part of the city's skyline for nearly 90 years is coming down.
New Jersey American Water will begin removing the 11th Street water tank Thursday. Officials say the 460,000 gallon tank was built in 1925 and has reached the end of its useful life.
There will be no disruption to water service as a result of the demolition.
For the safety of local residents and workers, temporary road closures will be required in front of the tank during the demolition process.
