Thousands of law enforcement officials and other emergency responders are in town this week for the New Jersey Emergency Preparedness Convention in Atlantic City.
Former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge was the key note speaker Wednesday. He encouraged all first responders to continue to prepare for the worst and be resilient. He praised New Jersey for being among the most prepared states for natural and man made disasters.
NBC 40 meteorologist Dan Skeldon was also honored for his work here in South Jersey during Hurricanes Sandy and Irene and also the derecho last summer.
Evangelist Franklin Graham prayed on a sidewalk outside the Pentagon Thursday after his invitation to a prayer service inside was withdrawn because of comments that insulted people of other religions. More>>
