At Atlantic City International Airport,
state police arrested a Burlington County man
for trying to bring tear gas on a flight.
The Transportation Security Administration says that through the x-ray machine, a security officer
detected a canister of tear gas in the man's carry-on bag Sunday afternoon.
state police confiscated the tear gas and arrested the man.
He was originally
ticketed to fly to Orlando.
There was no impact to airport operations.
Disabling chemicals, such as tear gas and self-defense
sprays, are prohibited from being brought on board an airplane in both carry-on
and checked baggage.
