VINELAND -- As immigration reform takes the national spotlight, families in Vineland are showing support for immigrants living in America.
Bishop Dennis Sullivan of the Camden Diocese was at Divine Mercy Church Friday night for a special mass intended to show solidarity for immigrant families and immigration reform.
Immigration reform has been a long time goal of the Catholic church.
"We're expecting over 1,000 people tonight to come and pray in solidarity with all of our families who are on the move," said Michael Jordan Laskey, director of life and justice ministries for the Archdiocese of Camden. "The Catholic Church is a really strong supporter of immigration reform and immigrant families and we're here tonight to pray for these families who are far from home."
The diecese serves 475,000 Catholics in South Jersey.
