For the 38th year in a row, hermit crab Martin Z. Mollusk crept onto the Ocean City beach to search for his shadow.
In the years when Martin sees his shadow, summer is said to arrive one week early.

Martin has seen his shadow every year except 1985, when he saw a partial shadow, and summer came three and a half days early.
