(Wilmington, DE) – Richard Stockton (20-15, 8-6 NJAC) was nipped by Wesley (20-15) 8-7 in a non-conference night game at Frawley Stadium. Andy Oliver (Penns Grove/Penns Grove) led the Ospreys with two hits and two runs scored. Mike Bush (Manahawkin/Southern) went 1-5 with a double and three RBI.

Stockton fell behind 3-0 in the first inning and got on the board with two runs in the third frame as Oliver scored on a wild pitch and Bush earned an RBI with a groundout. Wesley plated single runs in the third and fourth innings for a 5-2 score. The Ospreys closed the gap to 5-4 on a two-run double by Bush in the top of the fifth but Wesley answered with two runs in the bottom half to make it a 7-4 game.

Stockton again pulled within one in the eighth inning. Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) was hit by a pitch and later scored on a Wesley error. Erik Danser (Marlton/Cherokee) delivered an RBI single with two outs and the Ospreys only trailed 7-6.

Stockton was down to its final out in the ninth frame when Larro stroked a clutch RBI single to score Justin Gordon (Brick/Brick Memorial) with the tying run. Wesley loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth and edged the Ospreys on a walk-off single for the 8-7 final score. Freshman pitcher Ryan Adamski (Deptford/Deptford) pitched well in relief, allowing one run and one hit in four innings, but absorbed the loss.

Stockton will begin its final stretch of NJAC games with a tough matchup at second-ranked Kean on Thursday at 3:30 pm.
