Pleasantville Police are asking for the public's help after an early morning shootout on the Black Horse Pike.
The scene is described as two cars racing down the Black Horse Pike, one shooting at the other.
"It seems like it was a vehicle on vehicle type shooting. People driving down the street and just taking it upon themselves to start shooting at each other," Pleasantville Police Captain Rocky Melendez said.
The end result was a Mercury Sable, with shot out windows, lodged under the covered wagon at the old Pistol Pete's Saloon.
"Upon the officers arrival which was within a minute or two the area, there was no one at the vehicle," Melendez said.
No K–9 was available to track those who fled the scene and no one was found.
Police say someone with a gun shot wound showed up at the hospital in Atlantic City later on, but quickly left and was never treated.
"Its very sad and disappointing that you know around here you can't just walk around and think your safe."
While police are grateful no bystanders were hurt this time, they want to find who was responsible for this.
"We have vehicles that are traveling on both sides of the highway and bullets don't carry a name," Melendez added.
Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area early Monday morning or driving along this part of the Black Horse Pike to contact them if they think they have any information regarding this shooting.
