Bridgeton man arrested for shooting

Police arrested a 28-year-old Birch St. man early this morning charging him with shooting at his brother and his brother's girlfriend after an altercation at theMaplewood Gardens apartment complex late Wednesday night.

Isiah Thomas was charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief and weapons offenses after he was arrested at his residence several hours following the incident that occurred shortly before midnight at the complex.

According to police, Thomas is charged with shooting at a vehicle, a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria, containing his brother, identified as Edward Holden, 34, of W. Broad St. and Carolyn Carr, 36, ofSeabrook who were not injured.

According to Capt. Michael Gaimari, officers were sent to the complex after a report of several shots being fired at that location and discovered an altercation had taken place between Carr and other subjects in the complex.

However, the vehicle containing the alleged victims was not at the scene and recovered approximately an hour later by a New Jersey State Police trooper at the Wawa market on N. Pearl St.in Upper Deerfield Twp.

Gaimari said evidence was recovered from both the scene and the vehicle.Thomas was processed on the above charges and taken to the Cumberland County Jail in lieu of $35,000 cash bail and the investigation is continuing. (Thomas PhotoAttached)
