ATLANTIC CITY -

The City's Public Safety Building opened for business as usual Wednesday, one day after being evacuated.

Police say on Tuesday morning 29 year-old Thomas McHugh was on the fourth floor of the building which is normally a restricted area. When officers went to investigate he began spraying them with a fire extinguisher.  After the chemicals spread, police say at least 16 people were taken to the hospital.

The public safety building remained closed to civilians for the rest of the day Tuesday.

McHugh is now expected to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.  He faces multiple charges including aggravated assault on a police officer.
