The Coast Guard has called off the search for a missing surfer reported Tuesday night.
The Coast Guard, along with Brigantine Police and the State Police Marine Division are considering the reports of a surfer in distress off of the 14th Street North Beach to be unfounded.
Police responded to a report of a surfer in distress Tuesday evening.
After hours of searching over night and into the morning, police say there is no evidence that a surfer is missing, no surfboard was found, no one was reported missing and there were no abandoned vehicles in the area.
