EGG HARBOR TWP -
Thursday is March 14th, which for some local kids, meant "Pi Day", as in 3.14 -- the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.
It was a fun day of math lessons for kids at the Fernwood Avenue Middle School in Egg Harbor Township, where students enjoyed all sorts of Pi-themed events.
The frisbee toss was a big hit - frisbees the obvious choice, thanks to their circular nature.
The highlight of the day, though, was of course the 'pie eating' contest.
One seventh grader, Felix Tran, even recited more than 1,000 digits of pi.
Felix said that he plans on memorizing at least 2,000 digits for next year's events.
