OCEAN CITY -
A new project will
help to rebuild community playgrounds damaged by Sandy while paying tribute to
the victims of a national tragedy.
It's called the Sandy
Ground Project and it's coming to Ocean City.
The local and
state firefighters unions along with the Ocean City shops "Old Salt" and "Sting
Ray" are teaming up to rebuild the 29th street playground that was damaged by Hurricane
sandy.
The restoration
will be dedicated to the memory of 6-year-old Benjamin Wheeler, a victim of the
Sandy Hook massacre.
The 29th street playground is one of 26 sites in New Jersey, New York
and Connecticut to be restored—one for each of the 26 lives lost in the Newtown
shooting.
