VINELAND -

A Vineland man was hospitalized after he was stabbed with a knife in a scuffle Wednesday, police say.

According to police, officers responded to the 1100 block of Fairmount Ave in regard to a disturbance in the front yard of a residence between several people in a fight.

Police say that two people came to the residence of Eugene Brunson to collect money on a debt he owed to Daniel King.

During the encounter, Brunson and King got into a fight, which led to Brunson stabbing King in the chest with a knife.  King was treated at the scene by paramedics and flown to Atlantic City Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition. He was released from the hospital Thursday morning.

Brunson was arrested at the scene and charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He was held on bail in the amount of $50,000 and turned over to Cumberland County Jail.
