NORTHFIELD -
State Senator Jim Whelan officially announced his plans to seek reelection Wednesday in Northfield.
The Democrat has served the Second District as Senator since 2008. Senator Whelan will seek the Democratic nomination for the state senate seat at the Atlantic County Democratic Convention on Saturday March 23rd.
Current Atlantic County Sheriff Frank Balles announced earlier this month that he will run against Whelan for the Second District senate seat as a Republican.
