GALLOWAY TWP. -
Galloway Township and the Galloway Police Department are
facing a racial discrimination lawsuit.
The suit, filed by a current police officer in State Superior Court, claims discrimination, hostile work environment, retaliation,
differential treatment, and violations of the conscientious employee act.
In the suit, officer Brian Tennant alleges that he has been
subjected to harassment due to the fact that he is African American.
Police Chief Patrick Moran, who is also named in the suit,
has released a statement saying that the lawsuit is " full of half truths,
misleading information and inaccuracies."
The Township plans to fight the allegations.
