PLEASANTVILLE -
The driver of a pickup truck received immediate medical
attention Tuesday night after being involved in an accident with an ambulance.
It happened at the intersection of New Road and California Avenue in Pleasantville just after 7 p.m. Police say the pickup truck was driving North on New Road
when the driver made a left in front of a Tricare ambulance, that was not on a
call, going in the other direction. The two collided and the ambulance veered off the road and
collided with a traffic light pole, causing it to fall on top of the vehicle.
The driver of the truck was unconscious, and treated by the EMT's on board the ambulance until more medics arrived.
The driver of the ambulance suffered facial and neck
injuries, the condition of the driver of the truck is unknown at this time.
