MARGATE -
The city of Margate has been awarded more than $1.8 million to reimburse expenses as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
The money is for the removal of debris and is part of more than $15 million awarded to New Jersey from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The federal aid will relieve the costs of cleanup and emergency protective measures that Margate initially funded.
This money is part of the Sandy Supplemental Appropriations bill that was signed into law last month.
