ATLANTIC CITY -
Atlantic City paid tribute Monday to an officer who
died in the line of duty three years ago.
A special memorial ceremony was held in honor of officer Kevin Wilkins.
Wilkins was killed by an accidental gunshot while attempting
to clean his service weapon while on duty February 18th, 2010.
Family members say Wilkins was a well known member of the
community.
"Everybody knew him, everybody loved him," said Kenshaba Kelly, Wilkins' brother. "And losing
him, it affected everybody, it was really tough. I mean every time we think
about it, it's horrendous."
The intersection where the ceremony was held today was
renamed Kevin B. Wilkins Way last February.
