An Atlantic City Police officer has been indicted on charges related to his alleged abuse of the Live-In Officer program.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced Friday that a grand jury has indicted former officer Michael Jones.  Jones is charged with official misconduct, theft and tax fraud.

Jones, a 12-year veteran of the force, was arrested in March of 2012 for allegedly subletting an apartment in Stanley Holmes Village given to him at a discounted rate as part of the Live-In Police Officer Program.  Subletting the apartment violated the terms of the program.

Jones faces 5 to 10 years in convicted.
