ATLANTIC CITY -
A multi-vehicle accident caused heavy traffic delays on a local highway.
Reports of the accident near mile marker three on the Atlantic City Expressway came in just after 5:00 a.m. Friday.
Police officials on the scene say that the accident involved at least three vehicles in the westbound lane: two cars and a large gas truck.
Three people were taken to a local hospital for unknown injuries.
Both of the smaller vehicles sustained serious damage in the crash.
Authorities believe that a disabled vehicle likely caused the accident, but said they are also considering other factors in their investigation.
Traffic was delayed in the westbound lane for 30 to 45 minutes.
The accident remains under investigation.
