OCEAN CITY -
An early morning vehicle fire shut down several lanes of traffic on a major local bridge.
The incident was first reported just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday on the Route 52 Causeway in Ocean City.
Fire officials say a county salt truck was engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene.
An NBC 40 reporter on the scene confirmed that the truck was severely damaged.
One person was in the vehicle at the time of the fire, but did not suffer any injuries.
Fire investigators were also called to the scene, and authorities closed down lanes of the Rt. 52 Causeway from Ocean City going into Somers Point.
The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.
