The man who allegedly opened fire at a Delaware courthouse that left three people dead, was apparently at one time a police officer here in South Jersey.
According to a Delaware news outlet, 68 year-old Thomas Matusiewicz's wife said he served a brief stint as a police officer in Vineland.
While Vineland Police couldn't confirm or deny that, the city Personnel Office confirms that someone by that name was employed as police officer in the city from 1974 until 1978.
Officials say Matusiewicz was the ex-father-in-law of one of the victims; he died after exchanging gunfire with police at the scene, but authorities say he was killed by his own bullet.
