The bodies of two Jersey City men are found desecrated in a shallow grave.
"I keep my doors locked. I look out my windows."
These are just some of the precautions neighbors in Buena Vista are now taking after their quiet street was turned upside down when the bodies of two Jersey City men in their twenties were found on Thursday, in the kind of scenario one would see on TV.
"Their heads and hands had been severed from their bodies, and were buried separate from their torsos, within the same wooded area," said Tom Calcagni, First Assistant Attorney General.
According to police 27-year-old Yusuf Ibrahim allegedly dumped the bodies in a shallow grave behind a home on the 1100 block of Harding Highway after they were involved in a violet dispute, on Tuesday.
"It is alleged that Ibrahim shot both of the victims in the chest during a dispute that occurred inside the parked car. A white Mercedes Benz belonging to one of the victims."
Philadelphia Police first attempted to arrest Ibrahim during a pursuit on Wednesday, after the Mercedes Benz was set on fire and abandoned on Penn's Grove Street.
It wasn't until Sunday that police were able to apprehend Ibrahim inside of an apartment in Bayonne New Jersey.
"We've charged the 28 year old defendant Yusuf Ibrahim of Jersey City with two counts of murder and two counts of desecration of human remains," said Calcagni.
Ibrahim is being held at the Atlantic County Jail on a three million dollar bail.
The identities of the two men are being held until the notification of next of kin. One of the victims was reported missing in Jersey City as of the 7th.
