ATLANTIC CITY -
Several Atlantic City convenience store owners were arrested
for selling prescription drugs and untaxed tobacco products.
The Atlantic City Police Department's Special Investigations Section, along with multiple state agencies, conducted the investigation, in
which six area stores were busted. Some were found to be selling pills labeled as dietary
supplements that actually contained prescription male enhancement drugs, which
are supposed to be controlled by the state. Others were found to be selling untaxed cigarettes, among
other violations.
Five of the store owners were arrested, and two warrants have
been issued. In all, 200 cartons of illegal cigarettes and over $10,000 cash was recovered in the investigation.
