EGG HARBOR TWP. -
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a 7-Eleven convenience store.
Police say the suspect approached the clerk at the 7-Eleven on Tilton Road just after 1:30 Monday morning and began striking him with a handgun. The suspect then jumped over the counter, removed an unknown amount of cash from the register and ran away.
The clerk was taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center and treated for his injuries.
The suspect is described as a black man, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches in height wearing blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket.
