Atlantic City Police arrested a teen for possessing a weapon
and assaulting police officers Wednesday night.
It happened around 10 o'clock on the 800 block of Maryland Avenue. Police say the 17 year-old began to walk away from an
approaching police car clutching an object in his waistband. When the officers got out of their vehicle, a gun fell to
the ground from his pants. According to police, a violent struggle ensued
between officers and the suspect who was trying to retrieve the weapon.
The teen was arrested, and found to be in possession of
marijuana as well. He faces numerous charges as a result, and is being held at Harbor Fields Detention Center in Egg Harbor City.
