ATLANTIC COUNTY - The freeze is on for residents, raising concern for how to safely heat your home.

With the arctic temperatures outside, South Jersey residents are ramping up efforts to keep warm inside.

We spoke to Davis Brothers Masonry and Chimney Sweeping who said that it's important to have your chimney inspected annually, to ensure that animals and debris aren't obstructing it, which could increase the risk of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning.

Atlantic city fire Chief Dennis Brooks says that they've seen an increase in calls relating to heating issues, and whether you heat your home with oil gas or electric space heaters, most problems arise when the home is left unattended.
