ATLANTIC COUNTY -
In the midst of this bitter cold weather it's important to remember your four legged friends need to stay warm as well.
Although most are covered in fur, they are affected by the frigid winds just the same as we are.
The Atlantic County SPCA says that all animals should be kept inside, but if that is not possible and your pets need to stay outside, there are some steps you need to take.
"People should bring their animals inside. If they have to have them outside please provide straw and put a flap on the doghouse. Make it nice for them, and have it off the ground," said Nancy Beall, Director of the Atlantic County SPCA.
The SPCA says not to care for any stray animals, because they may be dangerous.
Instead they ask that you contact the Atlantic County SPCA, at (609) 927-9059, or call your local police department's animal control.
