NEW JERSEY -
New Jersey health officials have announced two more cases of fungal meningitis, bring the total number of cases in the state to 48.
The two most recent cases, an 87 year old woman from Sussex County and a 48 year old woman from Salem County are among those linked to a recalled, potentially tainted steroid produced by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts.
Nationally, officials say more than 600 cases have been reported in 19 states, including 44 deaths.
State health officials say no one in New Jersey has died from the illness.
All of New Jersey's reported patients are recovering.
