ATLANTIC CITY - The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority is hoping to undertake a new marketplace, further enhancing the towns non-gaming credentials.
The CRDA voted to authorize a market feasibility consultant, Market Ventures, Inc., to help further investigate how a market could benefit the city.
According to the CRDA, the marketplace could feature a fresh market and food and retail vendors.
There are five potential sites, including sites near the wave parking garage, as well as near the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Both business owners as well as city residents we spoke with said they like the idea of the marketplace, and that the more new projects in the city not focused on gaming, the better.
The CRDA will further discuss the plan at their meeting next month.
