TRENTON -
Governor Chris Christie says New Jersey is taking a more deliberate
approach to gun control, mental health, and school security by forming a task
force to study the issues that lead to violence.
Christie is requiring the task force to make recommendations
within 60 days. The Governor says that it will take more than just gun control
laws to treat the problem.
"This is about the bigger picture, this is about violence
control, not just about gun control," said Governor Christie.
New Jersey has had an assault weapons ban in place for 21
years, and Christie says he supports the state gun laws already on the books.
