VENTNOR - Residents recently received a letter saying that the water system recently violated a drinking water standard.
According to the letter, 2 of 18 routine water samples taken in December of last year showed the presence of total coliform bacteria.
According to the state department of environmental protection, no more than one sample per month may show presence of that type of bacteria.
The letter goes on to say that there is no need to boil water, but that those with unique health concerns should consult their doctors.
One couple we spoke to say they're not concerned by the findings of the test, and say they trust that city officials are doing all they can to keep water clean.
Another resident we spoke with said she's concerned, and that this is just the latest issue with water in Ventnor since there was a sewage leak during the summer of 2011.
Ventnor officials said that all further tests of the water have come back negative.
